One of our favorite craft breweries in Eugene, Oregon, Ninkasi Brewing Company delivers excellent beer in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

On a recent trip to Oregon, we set aside days for wine and other days for beer—balanced with plenty of hiking and sightseeing in between. One of our Eugene days was a beer day, and Ninkasi Brewing Company was at the top of our list.
Outdoor Patio at Ninkasi Brewery
The exterior has an industrial look with dark metal and large windows. A prominent fence encloses a generous outdoor patio, creating a semi-private space ideal for gatherings. The patio includes shaded areas under umbrellas; on warmer, sunnier days it’s likely full of visitors, though on a chilly, rainy afternoon we opted to go inside.
Inside Ninkasi Brewery
The interior continues the industrial theme with metal accents and a modern, slightly futuristic vibe. A long bar runs along the back of the room and several tables occupy the front area. We picked a table that faced the patio so we could enjoy the view even while seated indoors.
Tasting Flight
The tap list featured a strong selection; we chose a tasting flight that included: Helles Belles Lager, Dawn of the Dead Red IPA, Total Domination IPA, Sleigh’r Winter Ale, and Vanilla Oats Oatmeal Stout.
The tasting flight presentation was excellent. Rather than handwritten names on a stained piece of paper, each beer was served with a card on a tray—like a beer trading card—providing concise information about each pour.
Every beer we sampled was well made; there were no weak offerings in the lineup. My personal favorite was the Total Domination IPA—if you enjoy hop-forward beers, it’s a standout.
During our visit several familiar faces stopped by, including a small dog comfortably perched on a stool that clearly belonged to regulars. The atmosphere felt friendly and community-oriented, which makes it easy to imagine becoming regulars ourselves.
Ninkasi offers a pleasant tasting room, thoughtful décor, a large outdoor patio, and consistently good beer—everything you want from a craft brewery visit.
