Spray Paint Your Pine Cone

Start by spray painting your pine cone. Gold gives a festive metallic touch, but natural tones or other colors work well too. Spray from several angles to ensure even coverage and let the paint dry completely before moving on.

Add Glue

Apply small dots of school glue to the flat surfaces of the pine cone. School glue dries clear and gives the craft snow something to cling to. Use enough glue so the flakes will adhere well, but avoid large globs for a natural look.

Sprinkle on the Craft Snow

Sprinkle craft snow over the glued areas to create a snow-dusted effect. If pieces fall off, gently press them into the glue with your fingers. Allow the glue to dry thoroughly so the snow stays in place.

Cut Your Hanger

Cut a length of twine about 4–6 inches long to make a hanger. You can substitute ribbon or thin wire if you prefer a different look.

Attach Your Hanger

Use a hot glue gun to add two small dots of glue at the top of the pine cone, tucking the glue into crevices so it stays hidden. Press both ends of the twine into the glue to form a loop. If needed, add a bit more hot glue for reinforcement and cover any visible glue with extra craft snow for a seamless finish.

That’s it—quick, inexpensive, and charming. Try different spray paint colors, add ribbons, or group several pine cones on a branch for a custom look. These ornaments are great for gifting or decorating a tree, wreath, or mantel. Happy crafting!
