Bad Brownie is a London-based mail-order brownie company that promises rich, indulgent treats delivered across the UK. I ordered a selection to see whether their brownies live up to the hype — here’s an honest, detailed account of the full experience, from ordering to tasting.

Who are Bad Brownie?
Bad Brownie makes gourmet brownie bites and ships them nationwide. Their business grew through markets and festivals and now includes a strong delivery service — handy when visiting their shop isn’t possible.
You might recognise them from Dragon’s Den in 2016, where they secured an investment from Touker Suleyman, a notable milestone for the brand.

Where are they based?
The company operates from Canary Wharf in London and also appears at markets and festivals, but their delivery service covers the entire UK.

The Bad Brownie experience
Below I outline my full experience — branding, ordering, delivery, packaging and taste — with honest observations throughout.

The brand
The website and packaging feel modern and polished. The colour palette and artistic dusting motif work well, and the slogan “Bad Brownie, dangerously good” fits the product. Overall, the branding is strong and appealing.

The ordering process
Ordering is simple. The product pages include clear descriptions, and you can add gift wrap if required. Checkout is straightforward: enter your details and complete the purchase quickly.

Pricing
Pricing felt high compared with local options outside London. Operating in London is costly, so higher prices are understandable, but for a nationwide mail-order business, a more balanced pricing approach could broaden appeal. If you live in London, the prices are fair; elsewhere they may feel premium.

Delivery
Delivery charges are reasonable: at the time of writing, brownie bar delivery was £2.99 and other options £3.99. Most orders are sent via DPD, which provides reliable tracking and a one-hour delivery window on the day — a very useful feature.

Unboxing
Packaging impressed me. The outer box and inner wrapping appear recyclable, and the brownie bites are securely packed in a neat paper parcel. They travelled well and arrived in excellent condition.

What do Bad Brownie brownies taste like?
Brownie bites are small — about 3.5cm square — and intensely rich. The texture is exceptionally fudgy, and the flavour leans toward deep, dark chocolate. For those who prefer very sweet, milky treats, these might feel too intense; I found three bites to be very filling despite having a big sweet tooth.

The flavours
Bad Brownie offers a balanced selection of flavours. I sampled the Best Seller chocolate brownie selection (24 bites) and here are my impressions:

Triple Chocolate
This version clings slightly to the teeth at first, then delivers deep chocolate richness with a crisp chocolate topping that adds a pleasing contrast in texture.

Chocolate Orange
Extremely rich with a gentle orange note rather than an overpowering citrus hit. Occasional chocolate chips add a welcome textural variation.

Peanut Butter
Balanced between peanut butter and chocolate. I would have preferred slightly larger peanut pieces for extra texture, but the flavour pairing worked well overall.

Ferrero Rocher
This one had a lovely crunchy topping but missed some of the distinctive hazelnut cream filling associated with Ferrero Rocher. Close in texture, but slightly short on that signature filling flavour.

Salted Caramel
The salted caramel oozes temptingly and tastes buttery and sweet. To balance the caramel’s sweetness, the brownie base felt even richer than the others, which made it too intense for my palate — though caramel lovers may enjoy it.

White Chocolate Raspberry
Surprisingly delightful: the raspberry cuts through the richness and adds brightness. I would have liked slightly more raspberry, but the balance was enjoyable overall.

The verdict?
Overall impressions:
- Flavours: 8/10
- Texture: 9/10
- Size: 9/10 (size suits the intense richness)
- Ordering process: 10/10
- Delivery: 10/10
- Value for money: 9/10 if you’re in London; 6/10 elsewhere in the UK

Bad Brownie: In Summary
Bad Brownie is an excellent choice for dark chocolate lovers who prioritise quality and intense flavour. The brownie bites are small but very rich, with exceptional fudgy texture and carefully considered toppings. If you prefer milky or very sweet treats, these may be too intense. For anyone who enjoys deep chocolate flavours and gourmet presentation, Bad Brownie is worth trying.
