This Banana Milk Coffee is sweet, warming and delicious. It’s the perfect way to wake up on a chilly morning or to relax and unwind during the day.

Move over pumpkin spice—Banana Milk Coffee is the cosy new favourite this season. Sweet, comforting and gently spiced, it’s an ideal drink for cool mornings or quiet afternoons.

The classic version combines banana milk, a touch of sugar syrup and cold brew over ice. I prefer a warm take that feels like a hug in a mug—perfect for autumn and winter.
What You Need
- Good quality coffee (use a strong, freshly brewed coffee for best results)
- 1 very ripe banana
- Milk (about 250ml / 8.4 fl oz; use your preferred type)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon, plus extra to dust
How to Make Banana Milk Coffee
My warm version is simple and quick. Start by mashing a very ripe banana in a bowl with 1 tablespoon of sugar until mostly smooth.
Transfer the mashed banana to a small saucepan and heat over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the banana warms through. Gradually add about half the milk and heat until it just begins to steam. Remove from the heat and stir in the cinnamon.
Pour the banana mixture into a blender and blend until completely smooth, slowly adding the remaining milk. A high-powered blender makes the creamiest result with no lumps.
Divide strong hot coffee between two large mugs, then top each with the banana milk. If you don’t have a powerful blender, strain the warm banana milk through a fine sieve when pouring to remove any remaining bits. Finish with a light dusting of cinnamon.

Autumn is my favourite season—cool bright days, changing leaves and the return of jeans that don’t stick. I love taking long walks with my dog, still enjoying the last garden barbecues and settling in with warm drinks that don’t make me sweat.

This Banana Milk Coffee takes about five minutes to make and costs a fraction of a speciality café drink. Give it a try and let me know how you like it!
